Community Guidelines

These Community Guidelines apply to all content posted in VietMarket's community discussion feature ("Tám Chuyện"). By posting or commenting, you agree to follow these rules. Violations may result in content removal or account suspension.
1. Prohibited Content
Defamation
Do not post false statements of fact about an identifiable person or business. In Canada, defamation is a civil wrong — if you accuse someone of being a "scammer," "criminal," or similar, and that claim turns out to be false or unsubstantiated, youmay be held legally liable. If you had a negative experience, describe what happened factually without characterizing the other party's intent.
Hate Speech
Content that promotes hatred against any identifiable group — defined by race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or mental or physical disability — is prohibited and may constitute a criminal offence under Section 319 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Harassment
Targeted, repeated negative content directed at a specific individual is not permitted. This includes personal attacks, intimidation, and encouraging others to harass someone.
Doxxing
Do not share another person's personal information — including home address, workplace, phone number, or private social media accounts — without their explicit consent.
Spam and Self-Promotion
Do not use the discussion board for advertising, repeated promotional posts, or commercial solicitation. VietMarket has dedicated listing categories for services, jobs, housing, food, and marketplace items — use those instead.
Illegal Content
Content that violates Canadian law is absolutely prohibited. This includes but is not limited to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), content that incites violence, and content related to illegal activities. Such content will be removed immediately and reported to law enforcement.
2. Your Responsibilities
- You are legally responsible for what you post. VietMarket does not verify the accuracy of user posts and is not liable for content posted by users.
- If you post about a real person or business, ensure your statements are true and that you can support them with evidence if challenged.
- Emotional posts about a bad experience are understandable — but characterizing someone as a "scammer" or "criminal" without evidence creates legal risk for you, not VietMarket.
- Respect others' privacy and dignity, even when you disagree with them.
3. Platform Rights
- VietMarket reserves the right to remove any content at its sole discretion, with or without notice.
- Repeated or serious violations will result in account suspension or permanent ban.
- Our moderation decisions are final.
4. Reporting Content
If you see content that violates these guidelines, please use the Report button on the post or comment. All reports are reviewed by our moderation team. We aim to act on flagged content within 24 hours.
